SALIENT FEATURES

 

In pre-independence era, many social institutions and fore-sighted persons established the educational institutions to propagate education  as well as to enlighten society. This effort was done throughout the country, especially in Maharashtra. Mr. Appasaheb Pathak was one of them and a few colleagues gave him the helping hand.

 

Salient features of the Institution:

In 1929 the primary school was established with 12 students and one devoted teacher (Today it is known as Manoramabai Mundle Primary boys’ school).

In 1933 Middle school was started. This is now well-known as Dharampeth High School and Dharampeth Junior College (Tarkunde Dharampeth High School and Jr. College.)

In 1939 Girls Primary School was started.

In 1943 for the sake of girls (for the convenience of girls’ education) ‘Dharampeth Girls’ School’ was established.

In 1954 ‘Dharampeth Shishu Vikas Mandir’ was set up and Silver Jubilee of Institution was celebrated.

In 1960 Dharampeth College of Arts shone on the horizon and in 1964 Dharampeth College of commerce was set up.

In 1968 Science College was established and in 1978 Home-Science branch was opened.

In 1996, due to expansion of college two different colleges,  R.S. Mundle Dharampeth Arts & Commerce College and Manohar Pandurang Deo Smruti Science College came into existence.

In 1979, English Medium School was started in Ordnance factory, Ambazari.

In 1989 R.S. Mundle English School was established in Samarth Nagar.

Thus the sapling which was sown in 1929 is transformed into sprawling tree.

Now  14,000 students and 750 employees are working in the institution.
